Kumejima Kaiyou Shinsosui Kaihatsu

Established in 2000, this company draws deep ocean water from off Kumejima and desalinates it to separate mineral-rich salt from fresh water, using the same nutrient-dense water to farm umi-budo sea grapes on land. It processes the entirety of the prefecture's deep-sea water intake allocated to the island, selling salt and sea grapes under its own brand.
