Luban Dhofar Frankincense Distillation was established in 2010 under owner Saleh Alaamri, who set up a dedicated distillation plant in Salalah, in Oman's Dhofar region — close enough to the Boswellia sacra tree's native mountain habitat that the resin reaches the still while still fresh, before a long supply chain can cost it the volatile compounds that carry its scent.

The plant runs an 800-liter distillation unit built in corrosion-resistant stainless steel, chosen specifically to withstand reaction with the resin's own compounds, paired with a controlled gradual-heating system engineered to keep the oil free of scorching; each distillation cycle runs under six hours. From that single unit the company produces frankincense essential oil, frankincense hydrosol, and the processed resin itself — the same triad of outputs the copper-still distillation trade has drawn from Dhofar's Boswellia trees for centuries, made here at small-plant industrial scale rather than over a souq brazier.

Where stalls in Salalah's Al Haffa souq sell frankincense resin by grade — Hojari, Najdi, Shazri, Sha'abi — as a raw commodity, Luban Dhofar works one step further down the chain, converting that same Dhofar-grown resin into distilled oil and hydrosol for buyers after the essential oil itself rather than tears of raw resin.
