Lung Tam sits in the Du Già valley of Ha Giang province, roughly 40 kilometers east of Ha Giang City, and is worked primarily by Flower H'Mông and Tày women through a community weaving cooperative built to keep the economic value of the cloth with the people who make it rather than with middlemen.

The village is often marketed to visitors as a "linen" stop on the Ha Giang Loop, but the fiber is genuinely hemp — Cannabis sativa grown in the surrounding fields and harvested in late summer, distinct from the linen (flax) label sometimes attached to it.

The process runs the full chain in-house: hemp stalks are grown and harvested locally, hand-spun on drop spindles or small frames, then dyed in indigo drawn from fermented indigo-plant leaves, with cloth dipped repeatedly and air-oxidized between dips to build the depth of blue characteristic of H'Mông textiles. Weaving is done on backstrap or floor looms in the geometric patterns passed down through the community, and finished cloth is pounded with wooden mallets to compact and gloss the fiber before it is cut into goods. Visitors can watch the working dye vats and active weaving on weekday and Saturday mornings, when the cooperative's daily process is underway.

The cooperative shop sells raw hemp cloth by the meter alongside finished pieces — pouches, bags, scarves and embroidered goods — with prices set collectively to reflect the labor involved; the operation runs cash-only, without card payment. It is a distinct production site from the Đồng Văn hemp-and-indigo workshop already represented in the registry, further along the Ha Giang Loop in a different valley and run by a separate community group.
