Niederegger

Founded in 1806 on Breite Straße, Niederegger has shaped Lübeck's identity as the marzipan capital of Germany, working the city's traditional recipe of finely ground almonds and sugar into loaves, marzipan potatoes, and chocolate-dipped confections. The flagship building houses a café and a marzipan museum where confectioners hand-shape the paste using techniques largely unchanged for two centuries.
