Owl & Turtle Bookshop Cafe

An independent bookseller founded in 1970, the Owl & Turtle carries a deep selection of fiction, poetry and marine titles plus a large children's section, with a cafe pouring locally roasted coffee and regional baked goods. Named for the nearby Owl's Head and Turtle Head, it has hosted signings by authors including Walter Cronkite and David McCullough across its several downtown homes.
