Pasotti

Pasotti was founded in 1956 by Ernesta Pasotti, who opened her own workshop in her home village of Castellucchio, near Mantua, after learning the trade at an umbrella factory in Milan. The business has stayed in the family since, now run by the next generation, and every piece is still described as entirely hand-made, typically taking three to five weeks to complete.

The house works in fine Italian fabrics, wood and brass, with a decorative streak that runs through much of its range: enameled wood handles, Swarovski crystal accents, and animal- and figure-shaped grips finished by hand alongside the more restrained classic models. That combination — an artisanal construction method paired with ornamental detailing — has carried Pasotti's umbrellas and parasols into stores worldwide since a single-village workshop start nearly seven decades ago.

For a house that began as one woman's workshop in a small Lombard village, Pasotti's continued hand production — rather than a shift to factory scale — is the throughline from Ernesta Pasotti's original bench to the umbrellas made under the same name today.
