Purebread

Purebread grew from a Whistler bakery into a business with several British Columbia locations, but its two Whistler addresses serve different visits. The Village shop is on Main Street with an entrance from Olympic Plaza, while Function Junction is on Millar Creek Road and is listed as takeaway only. A 2014 Georgia Straight report dates the first Function Junction shop to 2010 and identifies Mark and Paula Lamming as its founders. Today's website offers online pre-orders for bread and cakes, letting a buyer choose the collection location instead of relying entirely on the day's counter selection. For an unplanned cake purchase, Purebread recommends calling the preferred shop about what is available. It can make some alterations to its existing cakes, but does not promise completely bespoke designs. One important distinction concerns dietary needs: the bakery describes some products as flourless, while explicitly saying they are not certified gluten-free because they share a kitchen with other baking. Ask about ingredients directly before choosing for someone with a dietary restriction.
