What TenRen Tea is known for
TenRen Tea traces to 1953, when Ming-Fong Tea Co. opened in Kangshan, Taiwan, before reorganizing under its current name in 1975. Now run by the founding family's third generation, it has grown into one of Taiwan's largest tea manufacturers.
TenRen Tea traces to 1953, when a tea business opened in Kangshan, Kaohsiung County under the name Ming-Fong Tea Co. Its first retail shop followed in 1961 in Tainan, and in 1975 the company reorganized under the name it trades under today. Now run by a third generation of the founding family, TenRen has grown from that single Kangshan operation into what its own materials describe as one of the largest tea manufacturers in the Far East, with headquarters in Taipei.
The company opened the Ten Ren Tea Culture Museum in 2006, formalizing its role as an educator on Chinese tea traditions rather than only a retailer of them. Its footprint now runs past 200 stores worldwide, with a presence extending into Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China, and the United States — a scale unusual among family-run Taiwanese tea houses of its generation.
TenRen's range spans oolong, jasmine, black, green, white, and pu-erh teas across standard and limited superfine seasonal grades, alongside ginseng products and tea equipment. Seven decades after its Kangshan start, the company still frames its mission the same way it always has: promoting the art of Chinese tea to a global audience of drinkers.
