TopSound Hi-Fi has traded at Østerbrogade 90 in Copenhagen's Østerbro district since 1976, making it, by its own and outside accounts, one of Denmark's oldest hi-fi shops — nearly fifty years in continuous operation on the same street in a residential neighborhood a few blocks from the city's largest park.

Founder Michael Winther describes the store's holdings as "one of the country's largest and finest selections of quality 2-channel audio," and the catalogue backs the claim with a strong analog focus: turntables, cartridges and dedicated vinyl sections sit alongside speakers (floorstanding, wall-mounted, subwoofers), amplifiers, CD players and streaming components. Represented brands include Naim Audio, Ortofon, Audio Analogue, Brinkmann and Wilson Audio — a mix of Danish, other-European and American high-end names rather than a single-country or single-brand lineup.

The shop runs an in-store showroom for listening demonstrations and offers financing on larger purchases, positioning itself around personal service tuned to a customer's existing experience level rather than a fixed sales script. Half a century of continuous trading under one founder-led identity, combined with a stated specialism in two-channel and vinyl equipment specifically, sets TopSound apart from Denmark's larger consumer-electronics chains that also carry some audio gear, and its own address a few blocks from the city's largest park has stayed unchanged across that entire run.
