What Veuve Clicquot is known for

Veuve Clicquot was founded in Reims in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot and transformed from 1805 by his widowed daughter-in-law Barbe-Nicole, who created the first known vintage champagne (1810), invented the riddling table (1816), and blended the first known rosé champagne (1818). The house still grows, presses, blends, and ages its wines in Reims, maturing bottles in the UNESCO-listed chalk crayères beneath the city.

Best for — Yellow Label Brut, La Grande Dame, and statement gifting.
