Bologna Shopping Route — Centro and the Food Counters
Bologna's route is a short central day: two food counters in the Quadrilatero, chocolate on Via de' Carbonesi, a tailor and a leather door on Via Ugo Bassi, a boot on Piazza Aldrovandi, coffee off the arcade on Via Oberdan. The portico is the corridor between those stops. It is not a stop. Confirm current hours before you leave.
Morning. Via Caprarie and Via Drapperie
Begin in the Quadrilatero, not on Via Indipendenza. Come in from Piazza Maggiore along Via dei Orefici or from the Two Towers down Via Rizzoli, then turn into the market lanes. The portico ends when the stalls start. That is the point.
Walk Paolo Atti & Figli first. The house names two doors, Via Caprarie 7 (44.4936121, 11.3462252) and Via Drapperie 6 (44.4936270, 11.3452642). They sit a few metres apart in the market grid. Buy tortellini or Certosino only in a quantity you can eat. Cross to Tamburini at Via Caprarie 1 (44.4938067, 11.3454830) and repeat the brief: one salumi or one pasta, packed for the journey. Do not rush this pair to reach a brand window.
If you want a boot before chocolate, cut east one square to Fiorentini + Baker at Piazza Aldrovandi 1 (44.4927412, 11.3519149). Official contact says Tuesday to Saturday, split hours. Confirm. One pair is enough. Then come back west.
Late morning. Via de' Carbonesi
Walk west to Majani at Via de' Carbonesi 5 (44.4913555, 11.3409564). Choose one named chocolate (Fiat, Scorza or the chocolate tortellino) and ask how the box should be kept. Official contacts list a Thursday half-day and a Sunday close. Verify on the day. The route fails when lunch becomes luggage.
Midday. Via Ugo Bassi, then Oberdan
Continue to Via Ugo Bassi. De Paz is at 4/d (44.4950854, 11.3407649), the historic shop named on the house site. Furla is at Via Ugo Bassi 10 (44.4953973, 11.3386389), the official first-store street. One bag is enough. Ask about repair. The second official Furla, Via Farini 7 (44.4912598, 11.3434704), is a detour south if Ugo Bassi is shut. It is not a second purchase.
Then leave the arcade. Walk east past the Two Towers onto Via Zamboni's first block, or cut through to Via Oberdan directly. Caffè Terzi is at Via Guglielmo Oberdan 10/D (44.4953117, 11.3455902), by the Hotel Corona d'Oro block. Take the espresso or book a brewing course. This is the non-flagship stretch: still walkable, no longer the portico performance. If you only have time for one sit-down, take it here, not under the vaults on Ugo Bassi.
Optional, and refused
OMAS is recorded at Via del Fonditore 10 (44.5024525, 11.4044091), a Roveri workshop-belt address for the revived pen house. Treat it as a separate half-hour. Confirm the door before you walk. Do not add Borgo Panigale. Ducati at Via Cavalieri Ducati 3 is a factory and museum with an apparel cart, not this route.
Do not add Via Gorizia for Marol unless you have an appointment. Do not add Via Pollastri, Via Larga, Via Fanin, Via Mattei, Via Viadagola, Via Morandi or Sassuriano. Those are workshops and HQs. They are not the centro day. Do not add Ferrara, Fermo, Martina Franca, Monsummano, Saonara, Mira or Mantova. Those rows are wrong-geo.
Three honest lengths
With forty-five minutes, do Atti and Tamburini only. With a morning, add Majani and Terzi. With a full centro day, keep De Paz, one Furla question and the Aldrovandi boot, and leave every unverified brand card off the map.
