Cape Town Buyer’s Guide — Make the Address Do Some Work

Cape Town’s visual confidence can make a vague origin story feel sufficient. It is not. Ask where design, fabrication, finishing and retail each happen. A useful workshop address should answer at least one of those questions precisely.

Jewellery

At Dear Rae, ask which team member or bench process is responsible for fabrication and setting. Record metal fineness, stone, ring size, finish, lead time, resizing and repair.
