Habshi halwa and barfi feature at S. Abdul Khaliq Sweets, whose Karachi flagship was established in 1947 following earlier trading in Delhi. The family shop also makes gulab jamun, continuing the confectionery recipes associated with its earlier Chandni Chowk business. S. Abdul Wahid Sweets follows a related family sweet-making lineage, with Karachi branches carrying its inherited methods into the present business. In Multan, Hafiz Multani Sohan Halwa specialises in Multani sohan halwa, adding another regional confectionery tradition to this selection of Pakistani shops.

Karachi, Pakistan

S. Abdul Khaliq traces its confectionery back to ancestors who served as royal halwa makers under Mughal emperor Humayun, before the family opened its first retail shop in Delhi's Chandni Chowk in 1835 and then established its Karachi flagship in 1947 after Partition. Now run by a third generation, the shop still makes Habshi halwa, barfi, and gulab jamun from those inherited recipes.

Karachi, Pakistan

S. Abdul Wahid Sweets descends from the same Mughal-court confectionery lineage as S. Abdul Khaliq, with ancestor Abdul Ghafoor opening the original shop in Delhi's Chandni Chowk in 1830 after gaining permission to sell the family's closely held royal halwa recipes to the public. Its Karachi branches, now run by the newest generation since 2018, still trade on that 1830 dateline and the same inherited sweet-making methods.
