S. Abdul Wahid Sweets descends from the same Mughal-court confectionery lineage as S. Abdul Khaliq, with ancestor Abdul Ghafoor opening the original shop in Delhi's Chandni Chowk in 1830 after gaining permission to sell the family's closely held royal halwa recipes to the public. Its Karachi branches, now run by the newest generation since 2018, still trade on that 1830 dateline and the same inherited sweet-making methods.
