What Anseong Daejanggan / Master Shin In-young is known for
Hand-forged traditional Korean carbon-steel kitchen knives from a government-designated Intangible Cultural Heritage bladesmith, available only through authorized distributors.
Master Shin In-young (b. 1953) is a fifth-generation blacksmith (야장) at Anseong Daejanggan in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Per the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation's own registry entry — a Korean government cultural-heritage source, not a retailer — he was designated Gyeonggi Intangible Cultural Property No. 60 on November 8, 2016, having trained from 1966 under his grand-uncle Kang Seok-bong in a lineage the registry traces back through master smiths Kim Dong-suk and Kim In-yong. The same government profile credits him with reviving traditional clay forge-welding (접쇠).
Products are hand-forged carbon-steel kitchen knives — chef, sashimi, vegetable, and bread knives — with hickory or chestnut handles and forged steel bolster rings.
