Founded in autumn 2017 by art directors Karolína and Teodorik, In August Company designs ceramic and wooden objects, with textiles, for everyday use, mostly handcrafted in small Czech workshops. Garments are made in Portugal and plywood trays in Sweden, stated openly. The showroom and studio is at Dr Zikmunda Wintra 791/17, Prague 6.

In August Company began in the autumn of 2017 as the creative project of Karolína and Teodorik. The two art directors had met that year on a project for a shared client. She brought illustration and hand-lettering with textiles, and he brought photography and web design. Together they moved from drawings and photographs to designing objects for everyday use. The products are predominantly handcrafted in small workshops in the Czech Republic, with a few exceptions the company names openly. T-shirts and sweatshirts are made in a factory in Portugal, and plywood trays are made in Sweden. Ceramics and wood share the range with textile pieces and paper goods, and the aim is objects for ordinary days rather than special occasions. Waste is handled with the same candour. Half of the bags are cut from dead stock canvas, clay from the ceramics process is recycled into new pieces, and packaging is reused cardboard and paper collected from printers. The studio and showroom at Dr. Zikmunda Wintra 791/17 in Prague 6 shows current objects. Visitors also see previews of the collections still to come.
