PAPERWORK (紙本作業)

PAPERWORK describes itself in its own words as "a letterpress studio, based in Taipei, Taiwan. We specialize in printing & designing stationery by old-fashioned way, using vintage cast-iron presses, with our printing passions." That self-description sets the studio's primary identity as letterpress production, not general paper retail — the vintage presses are working equipment, not decor.

The studio's own line consists of original paper goods produced by letterpress: greeting cards, postcards, notecards, envelopes and letter sets, each carrying the characteristic debossed impression the process leaves behind. Custom letterpress printing runs through an associated service, FuFu Print, and the studio also teaches letterpress technique through workshops, giving PAPERWORK both a commercial-production side and an instructional one — a structure shared with Taiwan's other surviving letterpress operators, including the historic Ri Xing Type Foundry, also in Taipei, which still casts the traditional Chinese lead type the wider craft depends on.

PAPERWORK sits within a small but active Taipei cluster of letterpress-dedicated studios working to keep the process commercially viable rather than museum-only, and its own stated focus — traditional printing methods and vintage presses, not digital shortcuts — is the distinguishing claim that survives direct verification against its site.
