Sikkim has traded as a direct tea importer and distributor in Warsaw since 1998, built from the outset around bringing single-origin leaf into Poland rather than reselling through intermediary wholesalers. The company sources from India, China, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Japan and Korea, curated into what it markets as its Premieur Tea Line alongside a broader everyday catalog.

That import business grew into its own retail arm: Sikkim now runs herbaciarnia shops under its own name across Warsaw, including locations on Aleje Niepodległości and Wolska street, while continuing to supply other tea houses, cafés and HoReCa businesses wholesale — a dual retail-and-supplier structure less common among specialty tea shops that only sell direct to consumers. In the shops, tea is sold loose by weight, letting customers buy a small trial amount rather than committing to a full tin sight-unseen, alongside an online store shipping internationally.

More than a quarter-century after its 1998 founding, Sikkim's structure — importer first, retailer second — still shapes how it operates: the shops sell what the company itself brings into the country, not tea bought in from a separate distributor.
