Sadec District

Sadéc District is a Vietnamese homeware label whose journey began in Long Xuyên and Sa Đéc and the provinces of southwestern Vietnam. There its founders found handcrafted products made by generations of local artisans. From there they travelled through the wider Mekong region, taking in Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar. They were looking for work rooted in the artistic traditions of river communities. The collection pairs that craft with contemporary design. Pottery and tableware come from skilled ceramicists, and baskets are woven from rattan and bamboo. Wooden furniture and serving boards sit alongside glass vases and candle holders. Cushions and table linens are joined by decorative metal accents. Some pieces combine several of these materials in one object. Singapore Airlines' SilverKris guide describes the business as formed by a coterie of local designers. It notes homeware from glasses to ceramics inspired by the craft villages of the Mekong Delta. Qantas Travel Insider places the relocated Saigon shop on Xuan Thuy in Thao Dien, District 2. It lists tableware and kitchenware alongside ceramics and rattan pieces among the stock. The company says its aim is to keep exploring every country connected by the Mekong River.
